Ministry of External Affairs Legal Officer Recruitment Notification 2024 : Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in law specialising in International Law, International Relations, or International Organisations from a recognized University.
  • Note 1: Candidates with a specialization in International Law at the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) level, but not at the Master’s level, are also eligible.
  • Note 2: The field of International Law includes, but is not limited to, major areas such as the Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, International Environmental Law, International Criminal Law, and International Trade Law.

Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of ten years of experience as an Advocate in a Court of law in India, in legal services within the Government, or teaching, conducting, or guiding research in the field of law at a recognized university or institute.
• Of these ten years, at least eight years must be in the specific field of International Law or International Relations, acquired after obtaining the required educational qualification.
• Age Limit: Maximum 56 years.
